Glenn Beck Comedy Tour

Monday night Kelly and I went to see Glenn Beck’s comedy tour. Kelly and I spent the 3 hours laughing harder than we’ve laughed in a long time. But what is sad is that every joke had truth. We as American’s have gone so far with equality that we’ve forgotten that our country was founded on the principles of free enterprise, reprieve from taxation, and the freedom from government repression. We have gone so far as to spread an individual’s success to everyone thereby taking away the benefits of hard work. Shouldn’t we be able to choose with whom and how we share our God given money? Doesn’t the government trust American’s to give and help those in need? Apparently not, given we have created programs funded by taxes which give out less than 75% of that money while the remainder goes to “administrative fees”. Thomas Jefferson said, “A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.” Just a few words from one of our founding fathers! He also said, “History, in general, only informs us of what bad government is.” Maybe we should look in the past to see how these “changes” proposed have played out for our country! Has anyone read about Jimmy Carter? See any parallels with our nominees? Just a few of my thoughts today! Have a great day for the Lord!
