Our Babysitting Experience

Well this past Friday Kelly and I took on the task of babysitting 3 little girls, triplets to be exact! They turn 1 on Saturday! Their names are Amelia, Claire, and Ella. We were a little nervous on the drive over wondering if we could really handle it!! See Kelly is not a baby, baby guy. He prefers it when they are walking and talking! Or so I thought! Turns out he was great! We played, rocked, sang, and laughed together! Oh what we will do to make babies smile! At one point, Kelly had Amelia and Ella on his lap holding a bottle for one and talking to the other. I was trying to console poor Claire who is teething! Then bedtime came! Try putting 3 babies down in the same room and get them to fall asleep! Ha it’s impossible or so we thought. Their mom wasn’t kidding when she said don’t try to rock them to sleep just put them down and they will talk or cry together and eventually fall asleep! Did we listen to her advice? No, of course we wanted to put them down peacefully! Well at 8:45 when they were still crying in their rooms we picked up Claire and gave her Motrin for her teeth and thought the others would asleep… yea right. We ended up with all 3 back up and started all over putting them down! This time we let them cry and finally there was silence and the babies were asleep! Until 10:00 when Amelia woke up crying. We quickly swooped her up so as not to wake the others and found she was stinky…. Guess who got to change the diaper! You guessed it! Me. I had already changed 3 wet diapers with no assistance! But this one required an observer to complain to about the stench!! Then Kelly rocked her until her parents came home! Well 2 out of the 3 isn’t bad! It was a very rewarding night and after Kelly said I could handle that! I said don’t even think multiples!!!!
